Half-day Private Tour
Our tour begins at Campo Mártires da Pátria, one of Porto’s most charismatic gardens, where we’ll admire a striking new mural by Mr. Dheo—a heartfelt tribute to beloved tour guide and writer Germano Silva. Crossing the square to Travessa do Carmo, we encounter "O Tanoeiro", a collaborative work by Projecto Ruído (Draw + Alma). From there, we head over the bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia, where we discover an iconic piece by renowned Lisbon artist Bordalo II along the quay, followed by another nearby mural. In Gaia's city center, we’ll see a powerful tribute to Aristides de Sousa Mendes, painted by Mr. Dheo, honoring the Portuguese consul who saved thousands during World War II. Returning to Porto, we pause at Infante Dom Henrique Square, home to one of the city’s largest murals by local artist MOTS (2017), located behind the historic Ferreira Borges Market, a gem of 19th-century iron architecture. Continuing along the Douro River in Miragaia, we admire the work of Daniel Eime, followed by a stunning piece, "Look at Porto" by internationally acclaimed artist VHILS, just in front of the Museum of Communications and Transport (antigo edifício da Alfandega do Porto). After Miragaia, we'll take a break to appreciate the incredible Restauração collective mural, created by 7 national and foreign artists. We then head west toward Foz do Douro, where we find a massive mural on a university façade by Mr. Dheo, and nearby, a vibrant tribute to the beloved local figure “Batatinha” by Mr. KAAS, next to the Foz Market. Our final stop takes us east to Leça do Balio (Matosinhos), home to northern Portugal's largest street art mural—the Lionesa Mural, a 1,400 m² collective artwork on the Unicer wall. Created by 10 prominent artists, including Caos, Draw, Mr. Dheo, Mário Belém, RAM, Nomen, and Utopia, this mural illustrates the history of Matosinhos, the evolution of Lionesa, and the production of Super Bock beer. This remarkable project has become a symbol of urban culture and creativity in the north, now part of an industrial tourism route aimed at enriching Matosinhos’ cultural and tourist appeal.
